Schumann's in Bonn

I like to go to Schumanns with some friends from time to time to treat ourselves to something unusual. Always a highlight, a great changing menu on which you can always discover something new. The outdoor area, surrounded by beautiful hedges, offers a very calming place in the middle of Bonn's otherwise lively Südstadt. The prices are a little higher, the portions a little smaller, but all the more refined. The service is decent but courteous and the wine selection is very good.

Absolute tribe and favorite restaurant! We moved to Bonn a little more than 3 years ago and have tried 100 restaurants since then. There are also a lot of good ones, but Schumann's definitely excelled. Service, people and food are a real pleasure. P.S. After we moved to the other side of the Rhine, Schumann's has remained our regular restaurant. PP.S. try the schnitzel guys!

A few days ago we ordered and picked up 2 dishes there. There was nothing missing. Excellent taste! Gladly again.

It was very nice at the mulled wine stand, despite constant observation by the public order office, just a little bit of atmosphere, even if you sipped your mulled wine at huge intervals. I'm looking forward to better times when you can eat nice there again.

Classy and going out culture in its most beautiful form. Top service. The food literally melts on your tongue. The shop could be in a posh Paris district without any problems. Prices? Well, I was invited to work lunch. In private once or twice a year, and please ... please ... dressed up, you will feel more comfortable there. Portions too small. I ate bread with my schnitzel to keep myself full, just to explain the point / star deduction.

It was my first time there. We sat outside, really very nice. Because of the hedges around you don't even think you're in the middle of the city. I think the waiter had a bad day, in the meantime you had the feeling of being annoying when you wanted to order something to drink. I was always very brief and left again quickly. The meal was okay. The sea bream was a bit dry, the burger patty was completely done. Since it is priced a little higher, I expected a little more, as the portions are also clear. In addition, there was unfortunately no longer the dessert and the schnapps from the menu that we had selected was no longer available.

Menu with high standards. Prices accordingly. Starter - Pulpo on pea humus for 19 euros is a sporty announcement. Sweater was 4 stars, pea humus got 3 stars, could be better flavored. Salmon tartare well made and tasty. Dessert - blueberry mouse with lemon sorbet unfortunately falls off. Lemon sorbet 3 stars, blueberry mousse 2 stars. Good idea, but unfortunately very bland and gritty.

I used to live on Schumannstr. and a few years back visited this nice cafe with my then pregnant wife. She was craving for chocolate cake, even while her labor pains had started (we had a 10 minute escape from the hospital nearby). This was the best chocolate cake she had ever eaten. Have tried to find the same cake again on one occasion later, but they didn't have it on that particular day. Nice service staff, and great outdoor location.

Good restaurant with a nice beer garden. Here you can sit very comfortably even in hot weather. The lunch menu is always good and the menu is varied. That means it is always worthwhile to stop by. I can recommend it! :)

Really nice atmosphere but ever so slightly expensive ( maybe just by our standards who knows ) 4 small beers and two glasses of wine nearly 24E
